Sarah Stephenson

President & CEO

Sarah is a transformational change specialist who thrived in the corporate world for well over a decade – leading teams, streamlining processes, and driving strategic growth. Today, combining her business leadership skills and expertise, and a deep desire to help grassroot leaders and changemakers, she is leading Nonprofit Plus, LLC to help uplift communities and strengthen mission-driven organizations who are making a meaningful impact in our world.

Sarah’s passion and journey with nonprofits began long before her career in business. Beginning in her childhood in Jamaica, Sarah fundraised to build orphanages and provide
critical health care to impoverished seniors. When she moved to the U.S., she worked alongside Nonprofit Plus, LLC founder, Rachel (her sister), to support nonprofits in South Florida in raising funds for after-school programs for under-resourced youth, offering emergency rental and utility
assistance, pantry provisions, information and referral for public benefits and various programs for qualifying seniors, children and families. These experiences nurtured a lifelong passion for philanthropy, social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Fueled by that passion and the firm belief that when nonprofits are strong, communities flourish, Sarah bridges her corporate expertise with her passion for social good to help grassroots organizations get the tools they need to thrive, and develop diversified, sustainable revenue
streams, ensuring they can sustain their vital missions for years to come.

Sarah has a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Florida Atlantic University and a certification from Cornell University for Business Contracts.

Rachel Ramjattan

CFRE, Founder

Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Rachel bore witness to the structural inequities that inflicted injustice and trauma on the country’s poorest communities. At the age of 12, she began her lifelong journey as a fundraising leader committed to helping nonprofit groups achieve their mission and sustainably deliver impactful programming and services.

Rachel’s unyielding commitment led her to collaborate with more than 500 nonprofit organizations to build their fundraising knowledge, strengthen their processes, find loyal donors often overlooked in communities, and diversify their funding using innovative practices. She also partnered with more than 120 foundations to build grantees’ fundraising capacities and increase their sustainability through her inclusive No More Duct Tape Fundraising school and coaching sessions. While Rachel was an accomplished Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE), her unmatched impact was due to her courage, servant leadership, and experience.

Throughout Rachel’s nearly forty-year career, she successfully fundraised efforts to build orphanages, provide critical health care to impoverished seniors, launch after-school programs for under-resourced youth, and provide aid to 9/11 survivors.

Celebrated as “a fundraising coach with equal parts creativity and compassion,” Rachel was on a mission to cut through the noise, hype, and old constructs of raising money to empower anyone who had the time and determination, to fuel and finance their mission. Sadly, her mission was cut short when she passed away; however, the team at Nonprofit Plus, LLC continues to champion the principles and practices she pioneered so her transformative approach to fundraising lives on.
